Other ways to get involved

There are multiple ways that you can engage with City & Guilds' to support skilling, upskilling and reskilling within your industry.

It’s important for us to keep employers at the heart of education at every stage and we are always looking for industry experts to support with the development and validation of our technical qualifications. City & Guilds work with a vast number of employers, industry experts and professional associations from across a wide range of industries. We continually strive to meet the needs of people joining employment in such industries. Together we seek to continually raise professional standards and shape the future of the workforce.

The current Level 2 and Level 3 qualification reforms in England, and the assessments completed as part of T Level technical qualifications (TQs) require the direct involvement of experts from organisations of all sizes.

  • Employer Validators

City & Guilds encourages employer involvement in qualification validation activities, providing opportunities for employers to join us as Employer Validators and contribute to the development and validation of qualifications.

Validation activity requires your up-to-date industry knowledge to review and validate qualification content and assess the real-world relevance of projects and assignments.

Employers will be invited to attend an introductory meeting with the relevant sector Industry Manager. During this meeting, the Industry manager will provide you with an update on the current education landscape and discuss the different projects in development that require employer engagement.

Following on from this introductory meeting you will be issued with an official Expression of Interest for a specific project.

      Availability and Training-

Our Employer Industry Boards (EIB’s) exist to give employers a voice in skills development. These boards are made up of dedicated, voluntary representatives who provide expert advice and insights. Their guidance helps shape our product strategy, ensuring our qualifications and training programmes are inclusive and effectively support learners as they transition from education to the workforce. For more information please visit Employer Engagement | City & Guilds.

City & Guilds' work with a vast number of employers, industry experts and professional associations from across the different sectors.
